How does it work?

BBH installs a Positron central head-end, typically in the hotel’s primary wiring closet, and then a small endpoint converter in selected guest rooms where new wireless access points (APs) are to be installed.  As a result the coaxial cabling that is already in place does two jobs – it delivers the regular television broadcast channels AND it delivers the wired network connectivity for the improved Wi-Fi network.

Positron Hardware & Software Design

The ITU-T G.9960 G.hn Wave-2 standard delivered by Positron hardware and software is designed to leverage RG-6/RG-59 coaxial cable to deliver up to Gigabit connection speeds to endpoints without the complexity and delays associated with in-building re-cabling.

The technology is highly stable and scalable without the inherent complexity of DSL-related technologies.  G.hn leverages the coaxial infrastructure to deliver solid performance over a distance of up to 800 meters on RG-6 cabling.  When using a standard coaxial splitter it is possible to serve up to 16 end devices per G.hn port on the head-end.

G.hn supports the ability to “share” the coaxial wiring with RF TV signals while delivering significant internet speeds.
